Richard Craig "Rick" Sharp

Richard "Rick" Craig Sharp of Clawson passed away February 14, 2026. He was 64. Loving husband to Linda Bensel for 32 years; dear father of Cora Sharp (Austin Baadte), Viola Sharp (Drake Byrd), and Matthew Sharp; brother of the late Cynthia Cantu and William Sharp Jr.; brother-in-law of Roxanne Davis, Richard (Maria) Bensel, Raymond (Ellen) Bensel, Norman Bensel (Kathy Schoen), and Paul (Colleen) Bensel. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Richard Sharp was born in Pontiac, MI to William Sharp Sr. and Viola (Genicks) Sharp on December 26th, 1961. An avid science fiction lover, Rick loved to spend time watching terrible movies on the SyFy channel and reading endlessly on his Kindle when life allowed it. When Rick wasn't exploring fantasy worlds, he enjoyed varying interests when his health allowed it, including spending time fishing at Cat Lake, riding his motorcycle, and watching old black-and white films on Turner Classic Movies.

Rick was also a beloved family man, always there for every big life event and small conversation. When you needed a hand, he knew how to help. His unwavering support for those that he loved will be missed endlessly.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 – 3pm at Modetz Funeral Home, 100 E. Silverbell Rd., Orion. The family will receive friends starting at 1pm until time of service.
