Jonathan Tope Obituary
Jonathan was born in Lake Orion and graduated from Oxford High School class of 1960.
Jonathan proudly served his county during the Vietnam War in the US Army as a SP 5 from 1967 to 1973. During his deployment to Vietnam, he served as an Aircraft Mechanic and Repairman.
Jonathan was a member of the Oxford American Legion Post 108 of Oxford for 56 years and a member of the Sons of the America Legion Squadron 108 for 39 years, serving various roles. He was a life member of the AmVets Post 108, and a member of the Orion/Oxford 46 Masons.
Jonathan retired from General Motors in 2005 after 44 years of service. In retirement, he enjoyed serving his community through the Oxford American Legion. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his friends and family.
A memorial service and Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday February 21st at 11:00am at the American Legion Walter Fraser Post 108, 130 E Drahner Rd, Oxford.
Private inurnment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly on Monday February 23rd.
