Tamara O'Dea Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Modetz Funeral Home - Silverbell Chapel on Mar. 16, 2026.
Tamara Mary O'Dea of Lake Orion passed away March 13, 2026. She was 68. Loving wife of Collin; dear mother of Christopher (Adeline), Alexander (fiancé Madelin), and Jeffrey (Anastasia); proud grandma of Christopher and Allison; dear sister of Suzanne (Eric) Bracciano and Ronald Ward.

Tammy often sarcastically referred to her nearly 44 years of marriage to Collin as 'wedded bliss,' but her actions told the real story of a profound and lasting love. From the moment they met, through their years as parents, and into retirement, their relationship flourished. They celebrated all of life's successes together and remained a constant source of support through every challenge up to and until the end.

Tammy was known by many as "the hostess with the mostest," a title she wore so naturally and so well. She loved opening her home and her heart to others, hosting everything from euchre clubs to her cherished annual Christmas gatherings. She was famous for the love she poured into her baking, making thousands of Christmas cookies, homemade fudge, mini cheesecakes, and other special treats that became a treasured part of family traditions.

Tammy will be remembered for her deep love for her family, her strength, and her unwavering faith. She had a kind and generous spirit and was always there for those she loved, offering support, encouragement, and comfort.

Her greatest joy in life was her family, and she took immense pride in her children and grandchildren. She created a home filled with love, laughter, and togetherness.

Tammy faced life's challenges with grace and resilience, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her. Her love will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all those blessed to know her.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026 – 11am with in-state at 10:30am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 715 N. Lapeer Rd., Lake Orion. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 19, 2026 – 3pm to 8pm with a 7pm Scripture Service.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a memorial donation to one of the below charities that support Tammy's values and beliefs:

Hillsdale College Liberty & Learning Society

Disabled American Veterans (DAV)
