Derek Meffert Obituary
Edward Meffert
Resident of Haymarket, VA
Age 15, died Sunday, August 15, 2010. Derek was a sophomore at Battlefield High School where he played on the JV football team.
Survivors include his parents, Yolanda and Peter Meffert; one sister, Amanda Meffert; his grandparents, Gloria Aguilar, Margaretha Elizabeth Meffert and Dr. Henry Meffert, one aunt, Sandy Benson, one uncle, Mike Meffert and four cousins, Nick Benson, Brian Benson, Gabriella Meffert and Francesca Meffert.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 P.M. Friday, August 20, 2010 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas where funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 21, 2010. Interment will take place Monday and will be private.

Dane, Derek and I went to the Outer Banks at the last full moon. The sunset was at one end and the full moon rising was at the other. I will always remember my son's best friend - Derek.
