Donald Daniel Kern, loving husband of Rose Mary Kern for 68 years, proud father of Mary Kern, Margaret Clar (Richard) and William Kern (Suzanne) passed away on December 17 at home surrounded by his family. He was 92.
Don was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 8, 1925. He served in the Coast Guard during WWII aboard the U.S.S. Richey. A tool and die maker, he retired from NASA in 1987 where he was recognized for his skillful creativity. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Smile Train, P.O. Box 96231, Washington, DC 20090.
