Doreen Hassan, 72, passed away on December 24, 2021, after a valiant battle with plasmablastic lymphoma. Doreen was born on April 24th, 1949 to Curtis and Aileen Cannon in Chicago, IL. While in high school, she worked in her father's pizza restaurant. Went on to become a keypunch operator until she married. She spent much of her time driving her children to their many activities which included dancing and bowling. Doreen was a member of the Night Bloomers African Violet club for many years.
She loved gardening and any type of flower. Being a bowler herself, she participated in many women's bowling leagues. Doreen was a fabulous cook and passed down many recipes to her son. Doreen had a strong bond with her cats and dogs. She religiously watched her teams: the Warriors and the Forty-Niners. She was known for her hand-written Christmas cards that she would dependably send out to friends and family each year.
She is survived by her loving husband, Said Hassan, and two children, Jennifer and Darren Hassan.
