I know it's been four years and we are supposed to let go, but apparently even time doesn't cure all wounds. I will never forget my friend, and his kind soul. I only wish I had another chance to shake his hand and give him a hug for all that he did. I will always miss you Dustin, and I will forever miss the times we spent together. You were always the big brother I didn't have.

Dear Rabe Family,
I have only met your son a few times. He was my cousin's (Ian Higgins) best friend. He was such an incredible young man. He often joined our family at Easter and it was such an honor having known such a determined and amazing person such as him. May God give you the strength and peace within during this difficult time. Your angel is flying above you to watch over you in this time of need.

I have known Dustin for some time and shared his passion of transoceanic flights in small planes. I've given him advice at times and appreciated his airmanship and flying skills.

My husband Robin is a fellow ferry pilot and good friend, and I was lucky to have met Dustin in St Johns just 2 months ago, while I was accompanying my husband on a ferry trip to Morocco. The three of us had a lovely dinner at an irish bar and shared a taxi to the airport the next morning, and the last thing I said to Dustin was that I wanted to set him up with a nice girl (I'm Irish, its what we do!). He was so sweet and so nice, we are devastated. Our loving thoughts go to his family, he was truly a beautiful soul.

Dear Rabe Family,
The memories I have of you, Dustin, and the travels we took together, will never fade. Thank you for being such an inspiration and a mentor to myself and so many others. The fact that we were able to talk on 123.45 over Europe the other day was a special blessing, although I didn't realize how important it was at the time. Glad we got to chat. You are my friend always. You are in my thoughts, and I pray for strength for your family in this most difficult time.

It is very sad to learn that Dustin Rabe has passed away in a plane crash. I followed his SPOT the other day in Eastern USA, but I did not realize that the flight ended with a fatality.
Even though I met Dustin only once on my ferry flight in Greenland I will remember him as a serious pilot and a competent advisor for me as a "first-timer" on the trans-Atlantic-route.
Please give me condolences to all his relatives who might know me.

Dear Rabe Family, Mike and I are so very, very sorry for your incredible loss. I can not even imagine the pain you are in. I only met Dustin onces, but I remember him telling me how he thought the FAA exam was pretty easy. I had just taken it and I thought it was the hardest exam I'd every taken. That conversation sure told me what a smart young man he was. He also told me of his love of planes and how excited he was to fly and see the world. How incredible and amazing he is! I believe that he lived a very full life doing what he wanted in a short lifespan.
We are sending you our deepest sympathy, and praying for peace for Dustin and for his wonderful family.

My friend Dustin died yesterday. I did not know him well, but I wish I could have gotten a chance to. From what few conversations we had I know we could have had good times together. When I saw the postings that he had been in an accident my heart sank. I talked to Dustin Sunday nighthe called me from Florida. He said it was really hot and humid. I asked him about how he delivers planes and he told me all about it. Dustin said he'd give me a call the next day and check in with me and let me know how his trip was going...he never called. Then I checked my facebook....I give my deepest condolences to his family and close friends. May you rest in peace, Dustin.

The loss of a 29 year old man is very sad, especially for his father. As a fellow pilot, however, I thinks a small measure of comfort can be taken from the fact that he died doing what he loved and that this is how he would want to have died. He is at peace now and we must have faith that there is a greater plan at work here. May God bless his soul and provide comfort to his family.
