Edith Bonner Obituary
November 16, 1922 - July 16, 2016
Resident of Mountain View
Edith, 93, wife of the late David J. Bonner, was born in Oakland and spent majority of her adult life in Mountain View and Saratoga. While Edith was attending UC Berkeley, she met the love of her life, Dave, right before the war broke out. When Dave shipped out to Okinawa, Edith went to work in the shipyards to do her part. Shortly after the war, Edith and Dave opened up their first Army-Navy surplus store in El Cerrito, CA. In 1956, they moved and established Mountain View Surplus which they operated for over 40 years. Edith is survived by her 3 sons, Mitchell, Stewart (Nadine), and Roger (Crystal) along with 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter. A memorial service will be at Oakhill on Tuesday, July 19th at 2pm.
