Edward Ramirez Obituary

Edward Chavez Ramirez
May 2, 1939 - February 8, 2022
Resident of San Jose, CA
On February 8, 2022, Edward passed away peacefully in his sleep at the home of his sister Irene in San Jose, CA, at the age of 82. Edward was born May 2, 1939, in Santa Maria, CA, and migrated to San Jose. He graduated from Willow Glen High School, achieved a Bachelor of Arts at San Jose State University, and obtained a teaching credential. During his life, there were many moments of joy. He worked for G.E., JDR Microdevices, and with his brother Frank at Hill's Flowers. Edward loved to create art. He enjoyed painting, photography, and writing screenplays and children's stories. He displayed his works at local libraries and participated in many competitions. He dutifully took care of his mom, dad, and brother John through the completion of their lives. He was very caring, humorous, supportive, and opened his door to help people in need without asking for anything in return. He is survived by his sister Irene Alcaraz Hanstein, brother Moses Ramirez and wife Maria, sister Mary Linda Kinkade and husband Jim, and many nieces and nephews.
On Thursday, March 10, 2022, at 10 a.m., a graveside service will be held at The Field of Honor, Lot 2025, at Oak Hill Funeral Home in San Jose, CA. A celebration of life will follow from 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM. (408) 297-2447.
