Edward Seaman Obituary

Edward Seaman
June 13, 1922 - March 11, 2021
El Dorado HIlls
Edward Seaman, a resident of Los Altos for 58 years, passed away on March 11 in El Dorado Hills, California. He died from natural causes and was in the company of his wife of 76 years, Jane and his two children Nancy and Ed. In addition to his wife and two children, he survived by three grandsons and one great-grandson. He also gained another grandson and great-grandson through other family marriages.
Edward was born in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Freeport, New York in high school. It was here that he met his future wife, Jane. He graduated from the New York State Maritime Academy with a degree in engineering in 1942 and spent the rest of World War II in the engine room of Liberty ships transporting ammunition across the Atlantic.
His professional career was in marketing. He worked for 3M Company in Washington, D.C. for ten years and then was hired by the fledgling company, Memorex, in Santa Clara, California. He became their first Vice-President of Marketing. In 1970 he was the awarded the National Marketing Man of the Year Award by Industrial Marketing Magazine. He later became a marketing consultant to Pfizer Corporation and provided professional consulting to many Peninsula startup firms.
He played tennis almost every day until late in life. His slogan was: "when I get too old for singles, I'll play doubles. When I get too old for doubles, I'll take up golf." His other passion was driving his 1955 Pontiac Star Chief convertible.
But the most important thing in life to Ed was his family. He dedicated his work and his time to doing anything he could to help them any way he could.
He will be missed surely, but never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education. https://agassifoundation.org/
