My condolences to her husband, Renato, and the rest of of Ellen's family, and to her many close friends, especially at De Anza. She was always so nice to be around. And Ellen had a wonderful smile.

Ellen was a very special person to everyone. She was such a caring, energetic, lively, kind and loving person. She contributed to my mother's strength to live on during her last year's as a survivor of a stroke.
My family will always be thankful.

I could not believe the sad news when I returned from vacation to De Anza College. Ellen chaired the Professional Growth committee and assisted many classified professionals to receive their PGA awards. This was only one of many volunteer tasks she took on while working at De Anza. I enjoyed working with her during the two years I served as classified senator. My heartfelt condolences to Renato and family.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. Forever our friend. Forever live in our hearts. I still remember how much my daughter enjoyed all those birthday gifts from you. She loved each story book and every lovely cute dress you handpicked for her. Ellen, you're the most cheerful person who had the most beautiful smiles I've ever known. I will miss you so much!

She is still alive in my heart. A few weeks before she left we were going to go for munchies at a little place I found and never made it... I will buy a plate in her honor. I considered her one of my best friends and will miss our walks and talks and munchies and our laughter. Luckily Internet is working for me for this moment to be able to post this from Burning Man. I will write something in the Temple for you Ellen and it will be delivered to you in the stars when the Temple burns Sunday. Love you forever. XOXO Sandi

Ellen became a dear friend of our entire family when my Mother, Aida Pestarino, became part of her Adaptive Physical Therapy class at DeAnza College in the early 2000's. My Mother thought the world of her as did I. Ellen was a warm, genuine human being whose sincere efforts and mere presence gave everyone a big lift and put smiles on faces. Our Deepest Sympathy goes out to the entire Family.
