Fred Chirico Obituary

Fred Chirico
Aug 26,1932-May 29,2016
Resident of San Jose
Fred Chirico, well known Santa Clara Valley Resident and Real Estate Agent, passed away following a short battle with Lymphoma.
Fred was born in Pittsburgh, PA into a large Italian family of 10 brothers and sisters. The family moved to their Glen Eyrie home in the Willow Glen area of San Jose in the '40s.In 1951, Fred graduated from San Jose Tech/Lincoln High School and went on to graduate from San Jose State in 1956. He met the love of his life Jeanne in 1956 and married her the same year. For the past 35 years he had a successful career as a Real Estate Agent; prior to that he spent over 25 years as an Insurance Agent.
As a friend and mentor to many, he was known for his great sense of humor and willingness to help anyone that needed it. He was a proud US veteran and member of the San Jose Italian community. He took pride in watching the Silicon Valley grow from where he enjoyed picking prunes as a young boy to what it is today. He was active as a Boy Scout Leader for many years and enjoyed participating in his children's and grandchildren's lives. He also enjoyed his many friends, Friday afternoon wine drinking group, and attending weekly Real Estate meetings. Retirement was never an option as his life revolved around work.
He is survived by his four children, Paul (Chris), Bob, Patti, John, two grandchildren, Marisa, Gina, and his sister Nicolina. Preceded in death by his wife Jeanne.
A Mass will be held at 2:30pm on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at St. Francis Cabrini Church, 15333 Woodard Road, San Jose.

Hello Bobby & Patti, Just heard about Fred...so sorry. He was like a second dad to me while you guys lived next door. Wish I could make the funeral, but now I'm a full-time stay at home dad now with both kids one is 2 years old & the new addition is 4-months. Please call when you can so we can chat. Sincerely Alan P.S. I think he's watching everybody from above, and smiling, with his wife now at his side.

Fred was the very first realtor I ever made a call on in the Title Business, 30 years ago.
It was one of the more memorable "exchanges" and conversations both of us ever had. I believe it is one of his favorite stories that he has shared over and over again. One of my all time favorite realtors and considered him a very good friend! Rest in Peace, Fred.

Fred was a great friend of my Dad's. They were classmates in the Cabinet/Mill shop at San Jose Tech. They were also involved in the Cub Scouts & Boy Scouts. My Dad was a Pack Leader.
Fred was a brilliant insurance man and even better as a Real Estate Agent.
He was the Used Car Salesmen of Real Estate and sold those hard to sell properties all the time.
He was in a class unto his own.
He had the best sense of humor all the way to the end.
A Good Man, Loving Husband and Great Father.
