Fritz Klempau Obituary

Fritz G. Klempau
12/13/1921 - 7/25/2013
Resident of Salinas
Fritz was born in Hamburg, Germany to Adolf and Gertrude (Liebig) Klempau. He came to New York City as an infant but returned to Germany when he was 7 years old. He and his wife and daughter immigrated back to New York in 1950. Fritz met and married his wife, Rita Kotas, in 1943 while they were working together in Brno, Czechoslovakia. They were married just shy of 70 years. In 1962, Fritz and his family moved to Sunnyvale. During his last 21 working years Fritz worked as an electronics test engineer for Litton Industries in San Carlos and Tempe, AZ. Fritz and Rita retired to Monterey County to be near their children and grandchildren and enjoy the sea air. Fritz was a quiet and all around handy person who kept his children's cars running and taking on any home repair or remodeling challenge. Even after he retired, everyone called on him when they needed help. He was always willing and very generous with his time. He loved his family very much and we all miss him dearly.
Fritz is survived by his wife Rita; three children Ellen Klempau, Peter & Linda Klempau, and Shirley (Klempau) & Gail Davis; and grandchildren Paul & Natalie Klempau, Andrew & Hyunmee Klempau, Shanna Porcari, and late grandson Michael Didier.
