Resident of Saratoga
Geoffrey Lawrence Giese (1953-2018) of Saratoga, California passed on peacefully during the night of December 15th. It was a tranquil culmination to an exceptionally full and manifold life marked by fiery intellect, cunning and curiosity. His immeasurable impact on those he loved will be borne onward through them, as will his singular wit and charm. Rarely is the world gifted such a beautiful mind; never has it known a more accomplished prankster.
Geoff is survived by his son Matthew Fitzgerald, sisters Mary Daniels and Lisbeth Evers, and granddog Lambeau.
He was predeceased by his beloved younger brother Christopher Giese, mother Elizabeth Koleson, father Gordon Giese and faithful canine companions and co-conspirators Boomer and Duke, with whom he shared a love of hunting and the outdoors.
Geoff's lust for life was reflected in his myriad pastimes. An avid Packers fan and disciple of Vince Lombardi, an extraordinarily capable and adventurous chef, a collector and connoisseur of California wines, a champion of culture and an inquisitive world traveler - his mettle and contagious good spirit will be forever missed and never forgotten.
Gone too soon, he becomes a part of us all and a nourishment to this world that he celebrated so passionately. A celebration of life is being planned.
