Homer Duane Stennes

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of an amazing and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. Homer was born in Hendrum, Minnesota, and relocated to California with IBM in 1965. He worked 40 years in IBM's Field Engineering group while raising his family in Los Gatos.In retirement over the next 30 years, Homer and June traveled extensively, and Homer was active with the Santa Clara Dog Training Club, showing in obedience trials with his Golden Retrievers. When at home, both he and June were always in attendance at their grandchildren's events, as they were their biggest cheerleaders! Homer was also active as a volunteer in the Los Gatos Community Service Department, Montalvo, Sons of Norway Lodge, and worked at the San Jose Giants and his son 's accounting firm of Stennes and Sabath, most tax seasons. In 2013, Homer and June moved to the Terraces and started the next chapter of their life by meeting new friends, attending social functions, and serving on several committees.Homer is survived by his loving wife June of 68 years, his two children (Pam Tyson and Patti Foley and families), his brother (Charles Stennes and family), his sisters' families, and his treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We are blessed that he is now reunited in Heaven with his beloved son Michael, his parents, two sisters, and his brother.Homer was a loving and caring man who touched many hearts during his time on this Earth. His generous, beautiful spirit will be missed by everyone who had the privilege to know him, but his memory will live forever in our hearts.
