Dr. James Browne Angell

James Angell Obituary

Dr. James Browne Angell Passed away in San Francisco, CA on February 13, 2006. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Elizabeth "Betty Belle" Angell. Survived by his daughter Carole of Sacramento, CA and his son Charles, daughter-in-law Nada and grandson Charles James of Redwood City, CA.

Jim was born on Staten Island, New York on December 25, 1924, a true Christmas "Angell". He was a graduate of M.I.T., and taught Electrical Engineering at Stanford University from the mid 1960's until his retirement in the late 1990's. Jim loved music and was active in the church choir and played the Carillons at Stanford. He was an avid squash player and played regularly until a few years ago when Parkinson's disease made it too difficult to continue. Jim also enjoyed hiking and spent many summers on the trails at Stanford Sierra Camp in Lake Tahoe, CA. He loved to travel; and even took his family and taught one semester in Germany. He had many friends here and in Europe.

Services have not been planned at this time, however; the family requests that all condolences be sent to The Angell Family, P.O. Box 1206, Redwood City, CA 94064-1206. Please include contact information so his family may notify you when services have been arranged.
