James Bottomley Obituary

BOTTOMLEY, James Elmer -- 68, of Arnold, CA. died July 17, 2003 at Stanford University Hospital. James is survived by his loving wife, Jane, of 39 years; his sons Timothy James, 38, and Eric Allen, 36, his brother, Donald Bottomley, and sister, Joan Peak. James recently retired from both Bottomley Distributing Co. where he was co-founder and president for 37 years and Bear Valley Mountain Resort which he puchased in 1991. A great humanitarian, James devoted his life to his family, his friends, and a multitude of charities never expecting or accepting recognition of any kind. An incredible man who made a huge impact on so many lives, he will surely be missed. The family will be holding a memorial service in Calaveras County. Date to be announced.

WE WISH TO EXPRESS OUR SINCEREST SYMPATHY TO JANE, ERIC, TIM & FAMILY. THIS WAS SUCH A SHOCK AND HAPPENED SO FAST. JIM WAS SUCH A GREAT BOSS AND FRIEND. WE SHARED SOME GOOD TIMES AND MANY VIEWS AND CONVERSATIONS. HE HELPED US OUT WHEN WE WERE BUILDING OUR HOUSE IN FOREST MEADOWS BACK IN THE 80'S, AND WAS ALWAYS THERE FOR OTHER PEOPLE. I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE OVER THE YEARS WE MET WHO MAY HAVE LIVED WITH THEM FOR A PORTION OF THEIR LIVES. RETIREMENT WAS TOO SHORT--MAY YOU BE AT REST IN THE BEST HUNTING GROUNDS WERE THE DEER, ELK AND MOOSE ROAM PLENTIFULLY. YOU HAVE

OUR GRATITUDE AND RESPECT ALWAYS.
