James Darchuk passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 27, 2022. He was born to Walter and Helen Darchuk in Cleveland, Ohio, and grew up with siblings David, Wayne, and Sue in Virginia and Arkansas. After graduating from Georgia Tech with a degree in engineering, he moved to California in 1980. Jim spent his career in sales and marketing for companies in the laser industry.
In 1984, Jim married Sue McMullen and together they raised three children. He is survived by wife Sue, son Scott Darchuk (Jenn), daughter Kelly Fisher (Ben), and son Kevin Darchuk and he was a beloved "Papa" to grandchildren William and Emma Fisher.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 10:00am at Los Gatos Memorial Park, 2255 Los Gatos-Almaden Road, San Jose, CA. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Heart Association.

Jim was a good friend of mine and fraternity brother at Georgia Tech. He was a good man. May he rest in the Peace of Christ.

We just heard of Jim's passing. Elena and I are shocked and saddened. Jim was always a warm, gracious and welcoming host and we remember him happily grilling away during pool parties at your home. We hope your family finds comfort in knowing what an outstanding man he was, as evidenced by the legacy of his and Sue's children.

Just heard the news about Jim. SO so sad. We worked together for many years at JDSU and he was a true professional. He was very proud of his family and always talking about his kids. You will be missed old friend! Until we meet again!
