I miss you cousin. I see your face in my great nephew. You will never be forgotten. I still feel guilty that I had not gotten back to you of message you left me to review your resume.

Dear Karen and Scallon family,
I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He was a friend and wonderful man.
We met in Philadelphia, in line getting our student ID cards our first day at Wharton, and became good friends. He always had a smile on his face, even when he stored his possessions with a Philadelphia company during the summer between our two years of graduate school and the company sold his furniture. Jim took it all in stride, smiling all the way to the police station. He seemed to enjoy every day of school, every celebration and the company of everyone he met. At the end of our two years of school, he joined my family and me for our graduation dinner in Philadelphia and brought so much joy and fun to the celebration. A few years later, I was his designated driver for a very nice St Patrick's Day here in the Bay Area and we had a great time, making friends and toasting the town.
We lost touch several years after we both moved to the Bay Area, Karen, around the time when you two started dating. He spoke so kindly of you. I will always remember Jim's thoughtfulness and friendship. My heart and thoughts are with you and your daughters. May Jim's memory be a blessing.
Sincerely,
Neil Blecherman

Dear Mrs. Scallon and family: I met Jim at Notre Dame and again at a Bay Area ND club event in 1986. He was a very nice man and the thought of him brings a smile to my face. I am so sorry to hear of his passing and will be praying for everyone who loved him. Elizabeth Spinelli Balmert, ND 1982

Remembering all the great times with SdVP YAG from Yosemite to wine country biking to skiing to American River rafting and St Pat's Day party trolleys (Jim's specialties) to all our great evenings, socials and volunteer events. Those times were a blessing Jim - thanks!

I'll remember Jim best for his service to the St Vincent de Paul Young Adult Group. Because of his leadership YAG was able to continue and thrive. Everyone including me who met through YAG and made friends, were married or had children are indebted to him. Jim is a loving and loved friend and brother in Christ who will be missed until we join him in heaven. St Vincent de Paul - PRAY FOR US!

"May you be in heaven a full half-hour before the devil knows you're dead". Going for a pint in your honor cousin. I treasure memories always of my brother Dan, you and I in the city and the many many good times we had and treasure the photo album you made for me of all the family Irish sites that you thought I did not pay enough attention to when I was in Ireland... may your days and nights be merry up in heaven like the new years eve you spent all night at our house... miss you and love you always... say hello to my mum and dad up in heaven and have a pint or a Jameson Irish whiskey... until we meet again some day.... wish I could be there for your wake, I know you always wanted me to promise I would be there and I hope it is all you dreamt of and I am so sorry that I can not be there.. I do so want to ... prayers and condolences to aunt Eileen, uncle Gene, Mary, Anne and Mike, and most especially your children and wife... you saw into my soul and I into yours Jim - and a beautiful soul you are... til we meet again...

Writing with a deep sadness to great Irishman. I remember so fondly our friendship and conversations talking about the young adults at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Notre Dame football or so many other things. Thank you Jim. May God bless your wife and kids and comfort them every day of their lives. You are with us always.
