Jim was a peds resident at the University of Chicago when I was a neonatology fellow. Once time when I was walking out to the parking lot outside Wyler, Jim was out there with a gray cat that had come to him. He didn´t want it but I had another gray cat at home so I took him home. We named him after Jim. Soderburg. We had him for years with us thru my first to jobs. Wonderful cat and a good story because of his name. Always reminded me of Jim who I thought was a lovely young man.
I also thought I saw him at the start of a Boston Marathon in the early 1990s. I didn´t ask and always wondered about it.
I am ver sorry for your loss. Sent a photo of our Golden. Huxley.

Dr. Soderberg was a beloved friend, colleague and mentor to many of us in the Pediatrics Department at Kaiser San Jose Medical Center. He had great organizational skills and was the one that set up our department for our sports form completion workflow. It was always a pleasure visiting his well decorated office that seemed more like a spa as it was always clean and decorated with beautiful plants. He was a kind and caring person. He made a positive impact to his patients, their families and the department. He will be missed dearly.

Dr Soderberg was My Friend, I will miss him. We worked together for over 35 years and we went through the many changes of Kaiser San Jose's from it's early years. He was always Patient and Kind and I could talk to him about everything. I can not think of one negative thing or memory of him. After he retired I would on occasion visit him at his home and take him a treat I had baked and always ask him what he would like me to bring next time, his last request was for My Egg Salad that he loved but I never got a chance to bring it to him.
Thanks for Your Friendship, Love and Advice Jim
Until We Meet Again

Dr. Soderberg was my pediatrician from the time I was born until I was 18. When I had children of my own I chose to have him as their pediatrician as well until he retired. We loved him and he will be greatly missed!!

Dr. Soderberg was our pediatrician for many years. He was kind, patient, supportive and always helpful. He was the best in every way. Our "kids" are now 35 and 42 years old but he was always remembered. He was a person of great value.
Our deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
May he rest eternally in peace.

Our condolences to all who knew Dr. Soderberg. He was our children´s pediatrician since they were born. He was always knowledgeable, gentle and caring. He had the best parenting advice too. We are grateful to have had the peace in knowing that our children were in his care.

I am so deeply saddened by this news. I worked with him for years and he was my 3 sons pediatrician. He was so kind and caring. I would hit his office with 3 boys less than 2 years apart in age and they would be quite active to say the least. He never lost patience with me or them. We were at a meeting 20 plus years later and he paid me the most incredible compliment. We were all going around and saying something about ourselves. He said, " I was lucky enough to be Bea Anne Lynch´s Pediatrician." He will forever be remembered in our Family. Bea Anne Lynch

I recall the day that Jim started working with us in the pediatric department at San Jose. A well-trained physician and loved by his patients and by his colleagues, he was a joy to work with. May God have mercy on his soul.
