CHIAPPE, John L. -- age 82, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 12th, 2003. Preceded in death by his devoted wife of 52 years, Margaret (Enfantino) Chiappe. Loving father of Janice A. Gilbert and her husband L. Ronald of Westminster, MD. John J. Chiappe and his wife Debbie of San Jose. Beloved Grandfather of L. Daniel, L. Samuel and L. Timothy Gilbert of Westminster, MD, Monica Bowman of Westminster MD, William Hanley of Buena Vista, VA. and John L., Adam and Chelsea Chiappe of San Jose. Great Grandfather of Alex and Samantha Gilbert, Sadie and Spencer Bowman, Sierra Gilbert and Andrew Hanley. Bother-in-law of Tony and Norma Enfantino. John is a Naval Veteran of WWII, active in youth baseball including The American Little League, San Jose Pony and San Jose Colt League. He was inducted into the San Jose Baseball Hall of Fame in 1986. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Saint Martin of Tours Church, 200 O'Connor Dr, San Jose, CA on Saturday, March 15th at 1:30 PM.
