Boot camp wouldn't have been the same without you man. An old man pog like me continuing on, it absolutely destroys me to know that a kid like you so full of life like my little brothers, gone... My kids will grow up knowing your name as an example of what it means to be a Marine.

Dear Corral family,
I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn't make it home.
I know you're in God's presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
I Salute You.

It is rare that someone dies on the battlefield and is loved so much as was Chachie. After learning of him and his involvement in the community, it is no wonder why so many people turned out to welcome him home. As a Warriors' Watch Rider and as we escorted him home from Travis AFB, almost every overpass was lined with citizens to pay their respects. Fire Departments were everywhere. Police from many districts as well as the CHP were part of the escort from the beginning to the end.
It is always sad to lose such a fantastic community representitive, friend and warrior. His family was beyond brave. It was obvious that they knew what his contributions ment to the the USMC, his community, family and friends.
I know his memory will live on forever in the hearts and minds of everyone. Just know this. His life was not given in vein and now he is with God. His spirit will live on in your lives and he will not forsake you.

Dear Corral Family,
I am so sorry for the loss of your true hero. As a Marine Mom myself, I know from deep within how you have prayed for and encouraged your son. Mr. and Mrs. Corral and loving family, I was honored to assist in providing escort with the WWR on Monday 11.28.11, and Wednesday 11.30.11. The experience will be unforgettable to me. I wish I would have been able to meet Joshua at least one time, but the memories shared by His loving family and friends will have to suffice. From the outpouring of support from the Danville community, and members of other communities as well, it was obvious to me that Joshua was a gifted and caring individual with deep feelings and aspirations of what was important, and what he wanted to achieve in his life. Listening to Mr Corral and others speak of Joshua at the memorial service was truly inspiratonal. I wish your Family enduring love and peacefulness ahead, and I will pray for Chachi's Brother Marines, still in harms way, continuing to ensure Our continued freedoms.
Sincerely, Daniel Perry
Humbly serving America's proud military personnel and families.

When I learned of Chachi's passing, I wrote this message to him on FaceBook.
Although I just learned that you have been Heaven deployed, I would like to thank you for your service and ultimate sacrifice for this country and for our freedoms. You will be greatly missed, always in our hearts, and your family in our prayers. Spread your angel wings and fly young Marine, watch over us as we go about our lives, remembering all those lost before you, as well as all of our military heroes. ? Rest in Peace ?

Dear Denise, Arnie and Family, This is something I posted on FB the day Joshua came home to Danville:
It was a very emotional day.
Today, I witnessed a grieving family accept their son's remains on a tarmac at Travis Air Force Base.
I saw the strength and support from the Warriors' Watch Riders as we stood the flag line.
I saw a fellow Marine participate as an honor guard for his best friend.
I saw a community stand the streets, waving flags, hands over their hearts, honoring one of their
own, a Marine, an American hero.
It was an honor and a privilege to participate in Josh's homecoming and it's something I will never forget.
This young man gave his life defending our country and my heart is so heavy over this loss.
Please, Lord, bless the Corral family and all of those who knew and loved "Chachi".
Rest in peace, Lcpl. Joshua "Chachi" Corral.

To the Family of LCpl. Joshua Corral
I wish I had the right words to say at this time, but I know there are none. I grieve for the loss of your beloved son and I know that I cannot fathom the pain you must be feeling. Your son will not be forgotten and what he did to help protect our homeland and our freedoms. It was his life that made him a Hero. It was his noble path that made him an American Hero. It was his ultimate sacrifice that made him a Fallen Hero. May God carry him to Heaven on His precious wings and give him a palace to live in. I pray that our Heavenly Father above will grace you with His love, His comfort and His peace. Heaven's Gates now has a new handsome Marine standing guard. Amen.

Chachi was a gentleman and the ultimate patriot. His was a generation raised after 9/11 and Chachi believed deeply that it was his duty to bring the fight to the enemy so that they could not again bring the fight to us. He wanted to honor the Corral family tradition of serving this country, which he did by enlisting in the Marines. He was first in his class in boot camp, proved to be a leader amongst men and took the most dangerous work for himself. He was not alone because he had faith in God. He carried Psalm 18 1-3 with him: I love you my LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer, my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies. We do not know the details of Chachi's death but rest assured that Chachi was in the lead, as was his nature, and not afraid of his commitment. He is now with God. We cannot sufficiently thank Archie, Denise, Christian and Jordy for the ultimate sacrifice they have made. We will always remember their son and brother and his infectious smile. Perhaps when we do, in some small way, Chachi will live on through all of us. Chachi would have wanted nothing more.

My heart aches for the family and friends of Joshua Corral. It's always devastating to lose one of our troops, but when it is someone from the Bay Area, it hits even harder. I hope the memories of the precious times you shared together will give you comfort and strength.

To Denise Corral & Family,
I am so very saddened at the heroic sacrifice of your son. Your kindness so helped my son's 3/4 platoon in August with your generosity and patriotism. Words cannot convey my grief at this news. Your son, Joshua Corral, will never be forgotten.
In deepest sympathy and gratitude,
