Resident of Los Gatos
Kurt Brian Hanson unexpectedly passed away in his sleep on Sunday Dec.. 16, 2018. He was a beloved son, brother, nephew , uncle and friend.
Kurt was born at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose and moved to Los Gatos when he was six years old. He attended Los Gatos schools and graduated from Los Gatos High, Class of '88. He loved living in Los Gatos. He attended West Valley College. Kurt worked in the construction business for many years with Fairburn Industries and Life Cycle Inc. He enjoyed his work immensely and took pride in his workmanship.
Kurt is survived by his parents Margaret and Nathaniel Melson, his father Charles Hanson, his brothers Eric Hanson and Jeff Melson ( Leslie). His aunts and uncles Nancy and Jim Rodgers, Annie and Everett Coffey, Aunt Nancy Durivage (Eddie Deceased), thirteen cousins and a very special niece Patrice Marie Melson, as well as many close friends.
Kurt enjoyed his life in Los Gatos, visiting family in Vermont, loved his friends and family, his 1969 Mach I, Stanford Cardinal Football, the San Jose Sharks, and the SF 49er's. He will be dearly missed.

I had a wonderful date with Kurt back in the olden days...1987 or so. We went to Togo's. I ordered an avocado turkey sandwich. The avocado kept slipping and shooting out of the sides of the sandwich. I was so embarrassed and felt awkward. Kurt could tell and was so sweet. He got us both laughing about it. Total gentleman. Kind, caring and fun. I'm so sorry he's gone.
