Leon Truan Obituary

Resident of San Jose
Leon Robert Truan passed away on February 19, 2020 in San Jose, California. He was 89 years "young". He will be missed and warmly remembered for his magnetic and witty way of making everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him feel loved and appreciated.
He was born in Kansas to parents William Henry Truan and Mary Ann Pigman Wolf. Beloved husband, father and grandpa and great grandpa. Preceded in death by his wife Lenora Lorenz, the love of his life for over 60 years. Loving father to Bill (Margaret), Shane (Mary), devoted grandfather to Kristen (Jeff), Shawna (Mario), Vanessa, Mitchell (Yarandy), Lindsay and 3 great grandchildren Makenzie, Madilyn, Gavin and another on the way. After high school, Lee entered into the United States Navy during the Korean War. It was in 1953 when stationed at Moffett Field that he met the love of his life, Lenora, on a blind date. In August of 1954 he was honorably discharged from the US Navy and three months later married Lennie in November of 1954.
Together they made their home in San Jose for over 60 years where Lee worked as a Union Auto Mechanic. He retired from Paul Swanson Ford after many years of dedication.
Lee and Lennie loved spending time in Clearlake, California where they had a vacation house. Together they enjoyed remodeling and landscaping their dream home. Holidays and Forth of July celebrations were regular family events spent at the "Lake house" with lots of bbq's, boating, skiing, fishing, and relaxing.
Lee was a very artistic and quite an accomplished expert wood carver. He was an active member of the Santa Clara County Wood Carvers Club. He and Lennie made close friendships through the years with many of the club members, traveling to various carving shows and exhibits.
He also had a love and passion for airplanes and was a member of the Tomcats RC Flying Club. He enjoyed building model planes and had a wonderful collection of them on display at various locations.
