Lloyd Foreman Obituary

Lloyd (Bennie) Foreman Bennie was born in Hammond, IL on 9/3/09. He moved with his family to Oklahoma in 1919 and lived in Hydro and Hinton. In 1936 he moved to Cupertino, CA with his wife Ruth, two daughters, Norma and Jean and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sam and Laura Henry. Bennie and his family lived and worked on the Beauleau Ranch where De Anza College is now located. During WWII he worked at Kaiser Permanente. After the war, he took up carpentry and was a member of the Carpenter's local 405 for over 50 years. In 1940 he accepted Christ as his savior and began a new journey. The love of his life was serving God as teacher, treasurer, boardmember and ministering to the needs of the congregation at Monta Vista A/G and Cupertino A/G. His ministry there lasted almost 40 years. He was involved with the construction of both churches and the building of the A/G camp grounds in Scotts Valley that now is the campus of Bethany University.

At 96, Bennie had been longing to be with Jesus for many months. The desire of his heart was granted on 1/20/06 at 7:34 p.m. He had a glorious departure with his family singing the songs he loved to lead in worship at Monta Vista Assembly of God Church. We are sure that Ruth, his wife of 69 years, has been waiting since 7/4/05 to welcome him home to heaven. Oh! The joy at their reunion.

His children, Norma Martin, Jean Martin, Ed Foreman, Frances Popp, son-in-law James (Sie) Martin, daughter-in-law Mel Foreman, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, 86 in all, will be challenged to follow his examples of devotion to his Lord and his family. We will miss you, Dad and Grandpa, but we know we will see you again.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 28 at 9 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 10 a.m. in Oak Hill Funeral Home's Chapel of Roses, 300 Curtner Ave., San Jose. Burial to follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Dear Fran -

I guess this means I don't get to come to the 97th birthday party! The morning of your mom's funeral my husband Bill saw a vision "of a large pear orchard with trees that were close together and full of leaves. The trees were loaded with beautiful huge pears." That's a picture of your family - many trees bearing beautiful fruit. You have a very rich inheritance no money could ever replace. Your folks truly walked with God in His garden and that's where they learned to grow their own. Love & prayers to you.

Dear Cousins

All thouigh it's been 10 years since Floyd (husband) had a visit with Ruth and "Benny" we always enjoy their calls.

When I was very young ,during the depression I spent time our my grand-father and grand mother on the farm, also spending time with both Ruth and Bennie. I remember loosing a tooth while visiting with Ruth and Bennie, and the "good Fairy" left a nickel under my pillow in the morning (nickels were hard to come by then, I wonder who that could have been?

My father and mother went deep sea fishing with Bennie and brought home some abalone which Ruth fixed for supper, boy was that good. Daddy and mother always thought so much of Bennie. I know he is happy to be with Ruth in their heavenly home.
