Lorraine Weinswig Obituary
Resident of Palo Alto
Lorraine Weinswig, 76, passed away on August 21 in Palo Alto, California. She was born March 1940 to Harold Bowers and Josephine Cressy in Boston, MA, and was married to Shepard Weinswig for nearly 47 years. She had recently moved to California after living in Fort Wayne, IN, for 40 years. Lorraine, a graduate of Boston College (BA) and Indiana University (MBA), worked in Finance for a division of Pepsi. Lorraine was a passionate philanthropist. She was a museum docent, used her CPA to prepare taxes for those in need, and was a resource to help people understand their medical benefits. She also was involved in many organizations including AAUW and the League of Women Voters. In addition, she was passionate about reading books (especially mysteries), history, bridge, her dogs, good food, a great joke, art, and classical music. Most of all, she loved her friends and family. Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Weinswig and her husband, Maxwell Kahn, of New York, NY; her son, Mark Weinswig and his wife, Zsuzsi Hamburger, of Menlo Park, CA; 4 grandchildren Ezra, Zahava, Ryan and Evan; and her cousin Linda Hamill of Marblehead, MA. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband.
