Lion passed away peacefully in Loveland, CO with his beloved wife, Julia Hogue along with family and friends by his side. He has been cremated and ashes will be spread at Red Feather Lake. Contributions and well wishes are welcomed and can be received at 956 S. Edinburgh Drive, Loveland, CO 80537.

1998 or 1999...I was introduced to Lion, upon his arrival at my mothers Loveland residence. Mom had told me she wanted me to meet a medicine man named Lion. Lion's daughter was very ill and he was buying my niece's car for his daughter. I'll never forget that day. Lion came into the house and I hung back, not knowing what to expect. After a quick introduction, Lion began speaking to me like a prophet. Lion read my spirit and told me many things. He told me that I see things that other people don't and that my family wonders if I'm crazy...and that I wondered if they were right! He said that there was 'nothing crazy about me' and that I 'had a broken heart' and that my 'heart was going to be okay'.
Upon hearing his words, my mother broke into tears. I was deeply moved on a core level but couldn't respond. For years I looked for Lion but didn't know how to find him. I longed to talk with him again. My family misplaced his phone number. This past week he was on my mind and in my heart. I did not know why. Yesterdsy morning, I woke up with an overwhelming sense of peace in my heart. My broken heart felt mended. I was able to be productive yesterday, without my usually overwhelming emotionally crippling pain. I didn't know why. I cried tears of joy. Later, yesterday... I got a text from my mother. It read....Do you know a Manuel DeLeon (Lion)?? I texted back 'why?' Mom texted that she was at a friend's home and resd her newspaper obituaries and Lion was listed as having passed away.
Is there a memorial service in Loveland for Lion? I would like to attend. He changed my life. Sam (Samantha) 970-744-4762
