Marie Cawley Obituary

Marie Coleman Cawley

Resident of Sunnyvale

61, died on Friday, August 13, 2010, from injuries sustained in a one vehicle accident in San Jose, California.

Marie was born March 9, 1949 in Japan and moved to the United States in 1964. She lived in the Santa Clara valley for most of her life and in her last years spent much of her time on the Monterey Peninsula. Marie loved the ocean, loved to garden and to laugh. Marie could find humor in almost anything, and influenced many lives in a positive way.

She is survived by her son, John Cawley of Auburn; her mother Mitsuko Coleman of Sunnyvale; her sister Judy Telezenski of Camp Connell; her life partner Jonathan (Jan) Walker of Carmel Valley; numerous nieces and nephews and countless loving friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Gary Cawley.

Services will be held at 5 p.m., Monday, August 30, 2010, at Hakone Gardens in Saratoga.

Your Mom is with you, laughing uncontrollably over a beautiful luncheon spread as you so enjoyed doing in the past. Your delight is obvious and infectious and observers can't help but smile and then tell you how much you two brightened up their day.

As it should be. Love to both of you. Still missing you.

Still heartbroken ten years later. Your mom is doing as well as we can manage to keep her healthy and safe. She still asks about you despite her dementia but I had to stop telling her we lost you because she cries anew as though she’s just found out. We tell her you’re traveling; which is true because we feel your loving presence and your wisdom every day. Whenever I face a difficult situation I remember your guiding words—“Take baby steps every day and you’ll get there.”
You are still loved intensely and our coping mechanism is to keep in mind that Heaven is where you should be and, you deserve Heaven. Say hello for us to the family members and loved ones we have lost the past few years. You all are still in our thoughts and a vital part of our lives.

Love of my life, I miss you every moment of every day. All my rainbows touched earth where you stood beaming that magnificent smile, laughing aural symphonies, streaming sunlight and loving comfort to us all from your eyes. I can hardly wait to be with you once more and watch your delight in the simple things--an ice cream cone, roses and puppies; and the meaningful ones--babies, loved ones and friends. Thank you for sharing yourself with us, although it was far too brief. Forever, your guardian angel.

Marie was a lovely, strong but gentle woman and it was a great pleasure to have known her. Her loss will be felt in many lives for a long time. May God hold and comfort her loved ones as they adjust to life without her presence. Debbie Erickson (Marysville, WA)

I worked with Marie at Applied Materials. She was a very sweet, lovely woman. Even though I hadn't seen her for a while, I still thought of her often and I will miss her presence.
