Max Zizumbo, of San Jose, California entered into eternal rest on Thursday, 11/15/18 at the age of 48. He is survived by his son, Benjamin Zizumbo (Ben's mother, Sylvia Zizumbo), his mother, Teresa Izumi (husband, Wally), brother Hugo Zizumbo, sister Julie Belveal (husband, Charlie, nephews, Nick and Jack), step-brother Wally Izumi and extended family and friends.
Max was born on June 12, 1970 in San Jose. He graduated from Yerba Buena High School in 1989. After graduation, he joined the US Army where he served in the Gulf War with the 101st Airborne Division. His marriage to Sylvia in 2004 was followed by the birth of their beautiful son, Ben, in 2006.
Max was proud of his service and will be remembered for his love, sense of humor and lifelong passion for the SF Giants and the Dallas Cowboys. He will be missed by his family and friends and will forever remain in our thoughts and prayers.
A memorial will be held on Tuesday, 11/27/18 from 6:00 pm-9:00 pm at Bay Area Mortuary Community Chapel, 1701 Little Orchard Street, San Jose. A private funeral will be held for Max at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Max's family requests that you donate to your favorite veterans organization.
