May Locke Obituary

Mae Chan Locke
Resident of Los Gatos
Mae Chan Locke, passed away at home after a courageous battle with cancer on January 20, 2013. A native of Denver, her family moved to San Francisco, CA, where she attended Jean Parker Elementary School, Francisco Junior High, and Commerce High School. She was introduced to her husband Tom, by her older brother, the late Chuck Chan. They were married in San Francisco in November 1952. Mae's love of golf began when Tom was stationed in San Diego during the Korean War. After living in Richmond and Castro Valley, they settled in Los Gatos, CA. She had a lifelong passion for golf, opera, musical theater, traveling, and 49er football. She was beloved by her late husband Tom, daughter Cheryl, son Neal and his wife, Sonja, and her grandchildren, Melissa, Derrick, Tiffany, Leslie, Annika, Jeremy and Elena. She is survived by her brothers, James Chan, John Chan and William Chan. A memorial service will held Thursday, February 7, 2:00 PM at Saratoga Federated Church in Saratoga, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mae Locke's memory to the American Cancer Society and Hospice of the Valley.
