Melanie Antoinette Pautzke

1928 - 2023

After a long & prosperous life, Melanie passed away at Celia's Hospice House in Medford, Oregon at the age of 95. She was born in Wanamie, PA on March 4, 1928. She left Pennsylvania after high school and went to Washington D.C., where she met her husband, Robert "Ernie" Pautzke. They moved to Mountain View, CA in the early 1950s and then moved to San Jose, CA. After Melanie's husband died in the 1970s, she moved to Campbell until she relocated to Jacksonville, Oregon four years ago. She worked as a school secretary for over 25 years with the Moreland School District in San Jose CA, until she retired. During that time, she was an active parishioner with St. Lucy's Church in Campbell CA. She was involved in the choir, the Alter Society, the Liturgy Committee, the RCIA Program and the Outreach Program. Melanie loved to travel, especially to the Holy Land, Jerusalem, Israel and Bethlehem. She also traveled to Egypt, Poland and Italy, where she attended an audience with Pope John Paul II.Melanie is survived by her three daughters, Mona Winslow and her husband, Terry; Michelle Hollenback and her husband, David; and Deyanne Sylliaasen; her two grandchildren, Alexis Winslow and Douglas Severn; her nephew Francisco Silva and his wife, Jaclyn; and her sister, Antoinette Whytoshek.Memorial Mass will be Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 11:00 am at St. Lucy's Catholic Church in Campbell, CA followed by a private Burial Service.
