Michael A. Kakalec, Sr. passed away on August 15th, 2021. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Margot Downing Kakalec, his children, Michael (Noreen), Melanie (Mark), Marcee; grandchildren, Natalie, Delaney, Braedon. He was a kind and loving soul.
Michael was born in McAdoo, PA to Peter and Mary Kakalec and was one of 13 children.
Michael graduated from McAdoo High School, served in the U.S. Army, earned a Bachelor's degree at the University of Detroit and a Master's degree at NYU.
His successful engineering career included work at Bell Telephone, IBM, and Read-Rite Corp, retiring in 2001.
Michael served in church organizations, including the Knights of Columbus, Juvenile Prison Ministry, Parish Council President, and Cursillo.
A Byzantine Catholic funeral Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on August 25th, 11:00 AM, at St. Catherine Roman Catholic Church, Morgan Hill, CA.
