Nancy Moran Obituary

Nancy Jane Moran July 18, 1934 - Jan. 16, 2009 After a valiant struggle with cancer, Nancy passed away at her home in Lincoln on January 16, 2009. With her beloved husband, Tom, by her side, Nancy passed peacefully in the early morning. Originally from Minneapolis, MN, Nancy worked as a secretary for Honeywell, where she met Tom before he joined the Navy. Deeply in love, Nancy and Tom married in 1956 and embarked on a 22 year journey taking them all over the country. Being a model Navy wife and mother, Nancy unwaveringly stood by Tom's side throughout his Naval career. Upon Tom's retirement from the Navy, Nancy and Tom enjoyed a very active life in Sunnyvale before moving to Lincoln in 2000. Nancy's love of Bridge and delight in entertaining attracted a grand arrangement of fantastic friends. Nancy's warm heart and sweet smile made her adored by many. A devoted wife, wonderful mother, caring grandmother and extraordinarily gracious friend, Nancy will truly be missed. Survived by her husband of 52 years Thomas J. Moran, Lincoln; son Kevin T. Moran, Memphis, TN; and two grandchildren Elizabeth, Cupertino, Ca; and Brandon, Memphis, TN. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 14th, 10:30am at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 4450 Granite Drive, Rocklin, CA. Donations in Nancy's honor should be sent to Sutter Hospice, Attn: Foundation, 1836 Sierra Gardens Dr. #130, Roseville, CA 95661 or the American Cancer Society.

Tom:
Nancy has always been such a special part of Patsy and my early life in the Navy and continued on as we all retired in the Bay Area and crossed paths occasionally at the commissary and real estate functions. We are so sorry we no longer will have the opportunity to meet her or speak to her and sympathize with your loss too. Nancy is fondly remembered and we wish you the very best and sincerely hope we can meet up again soon.

Dear Tom,
Fifty years spent on our bi-coastal road trips and what a grand time it has been. Fortunately the laughs have been numerous and tears few.
I am so very sad over the loss of my dear friend Nancy but the memories of happy times together comfort my heart. Her spirit soars.
Rest in peace Nancy, you have led a wonderful life and will be greatly missed.
My deepest sympathy goes to you Tom. I know you will find the strength to get through this difficult time.

Tom, We all will miss Nancy and her fabulous humor. I have had her in my life since I was 2yrs. old. Can't remember a time even as a kid that I didn't get to laugh when she was around. When Dad was alive he always brightened up when Nancy was at the house. That alone says alot...Her memory is branded on my heart. I can only hope to have people think even half as much about me as they do Nancy when I pass on. None of us can make the hurt of losing Nancy any easier for you however, please know we are here for you if you need us. Love ,Linda and Terry Presley
