Nelly Lambert Obituary

Nelly "Lily" Lambert
Resident of Sunnyvale
The world suffered a loss and Heaven got a serious upgrade on July 28th. Lily Lambert was a wife to Armand and a mother to Helen, Edward and Nathalie, grandmother to Paul and Marc. She was a daughter, aunt, cousin and best friend to her 2 families-those related by blood and deep friendships and the people she met and considered part of God's family-regardless of religion. She knew that the world was an imperfect place and she did her best to make it better - with incredible results that resonate even today. She grew up in Belgium and fought for her country in WWII for which she was decorated for her heroism. She told us that she lived her life happily as a person who "beat the odds" to have survived a world war and to have come here to live the American Dream. Like many other immigrants, she arrived with little money and high hopes. She left this earth having fulfilled the dreams and achieved those hopes. She not only achieved material success but if how you are loved is a measure of wealth she was the wealthiest person on Earth. While our grief is heart-rending, it will be exceeded over time by the pride and joy to have witnessed and been a part of a life lived so incredibly well.
A Celebration of Lily's Life will be held on September 26th at 2:00P.M at the Los Altos United Methodist Church, where she worshiped for many years.
