Resident of The Rose Garden, San Jose
After heroically fighting various health issues resulting from Polycystic Kidney Disease, Nick Vetere lost his final battle to cancer on the morning of June 16th, 2016 in the comfort of his own home with his family by his side. An avid sports fan and true businessman, Nick was loved by all and left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
A loyal and loving father and husband, Nick leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Antonietta Vetere, and his children Silvana Gentzkow (son-in-law Joseph), Paul Vetere, Gabriella Vetere, and Cristina Vetere-Saunders (son-in-law Charles), and grandchildren Jack, Sofia, and Robert Gentzkow from whom which his legacy will live on. Nick was preceded in death by his parents, Paul O Vetere and Bernice (Nemanis) Vetere, and his brother James Vetere. Nick's joyful and extremely likeable spirit will be missed by all and will never be forgotten.

I've been associated with Nick for the last 3-1/2 years and am shocked to hear of his passing...
He was a very nice man and will be missed.

I met Nick, back in the 1980's when we both worked at Paul Koss Supply in South San Francisco. In my mind I see Nick dressed sharply in a suit and tie, ready to call on his many customers in San Francisco. Over the years we would talk about business and sports, exchanging information. Occasionally I would bring a delivery over to his house, so he would have it for his customer the following morning.
Nick was such a great guy, I am sad to read this news in the paper today, and send our condolences to Toni and the children.

Teri, Mary, Kathy, and Janice, you have a new Angel. What beautiful Sister's Nick has left us. I know he's proud of you four, and he should be.............you are all loving, smart, successful, fun, gorgeous inside and out, and amazing! Teri, I'm a walk away. Big hug, and lots of love.

I WANT SEND MY MOST SINCERE CONDOLENCES TO THE VETERE GIRLS..MARY,KATHY,JANICE AND TERI.I HAVE SUCH NICE MEMORIES OF HAVING DINNER AT YOUR PARENTS HOME WITH YOUR BROTHER NICK TALKING TO YOUR DAD ABOUT BASKETBALL AND OTHER SPORTS. I AM SO GLAD I GOT TO MEET HIM AGAIN AT HIS MOTHER'S BIRTHDAY PARTY THAT YOU FOUR DID FOR HER. IT WAS FUN TALKING ABOUT LIVES BACK ON THRASHER LANE.
