Ward McMahan Obituary

McMAHAN, WARD C. Went home to be with the Lord on May 13, 2008 after a lengthy illness. Born March 22,1920 in Hillsboro, TX, preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Beulah Pritchard McMahan, brothers, Herman, Irving, Ewell & Austin McMahan, sisters, Eunice Carmichael & Louise Minix. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Janell Chaney McMahan, son & daughter-in-law, David & Laura McMahan, granddaughter, Keely McMahan, sister, Inez Murphy, numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and extended family members. Ward was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Cavalry. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for thirty years where he retired. He served at LaPrada Baptist Church as a deacon and pianist and later joined First Baptist Church of Forney. He loved to take pictures, paint, garden and entertained by playing the piano and telling jokes. He will be sorely missed. Visitation will be Thursday, May 15 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the "Semi.lla de Vida Chapel" at 309 S. Bois D'Arc Rd., Forney, Tx. 75126. Services will be May 16 at 1:00 P.M. at the same location. Services will be conducted by Bro. Jerry Griffin and Dr. Jimmy Pritchard. Interment and graveside service will follow at Restland Memorial Park at 2:30 P.M.
