Patricia Dreyer Obituary

Patricia L. Dreyer 04/03/33 03/05/06

Pat Dreyer entered into a peaceful rest on March 05, 2006. Pat, a long time Los Gatos resident, was born in Santa Rosa, California, to Roy & Josephine Brown, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her two daughters, Dana and Ellen, her son-in-law, Steve, step-grandchildren Tiffany and Sabrina, her favorite four legged pals, Teagan and Fred, and numerous friends and relatives, all of whom loved her.

Mom was an amazing woman. She survived twelve years in all girls' Catholic school in Santa Rosa before spreading her wings to San Jose State University, where she graduated with her teaching credentials. She met and married our Dad, Raymond Dreyer (deceased), and put him through law school by teaching elementary and junior high school. When she discovered she was pregnant with Dana, she opted to stay home and be a Mom to Dana, and Ellen, who came along five years later. We discovered she had been a one time baby beauty queen in Hollywood and was called, "Patty Lou," which we affectionately called her.

She suffered a severe stroke in November of 1999, and made a miraculous recovery, only to be diagnosed with breast cancer two years later. She volunteered for several years at the American Cancer Discovery Shop in Los Gatos. She was a fighter to the end who possessed an incredible spirit and fabulous attitude.

A special "Thank You" to the Central Coast Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice nurses. Your kindness and compassion to Mom and our family was appreciated beyond words.

A "Celebration of Life" will be held on March 25, at CB Hannigans, 208 Bachman Avenue, Los Gatos, at 2:00 p.m. Please come and share your favorite Pat Dreyer (or, Patty Lou) story. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Central Coast Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice, P.O. Box 2480, Monterey, CA 93942-2480, in Pat's name.
