Patricia Marie Gallagher (Pat) of San Jose, entered heaven on Sunday, March 15, 2015. She was surrounded by her family.
Pat was born April 23, 1939 and raised in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, daughter of Joseph and Nora Arouth. She graduated from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Providence and married her love, Joseph Gallagher in 1960; together they raised 5 children. They moved to Scarborough, Maine where they lived for 10 years before relocating to San Jose in 1973.
Pat was an amazing and caring nurse; she worked for 30 years as an ICU nurse at Valley Medical Center where she was awarded Nurse of the Year in 1996. She was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi, a philanthropic sorority, for over 40 years, and was a very active parishioner at Queen of Apostles Church. Pat was a fun loving and extremely giving person who loved to travel, entertain, gamble, shop, and spend time with her grandchildren. She was a great friend to many and a wonderful mother, Tete, sister, sister-in-law and aunt. Pat was preceded in death by her husband Joe, daughter Noreen, and son, J.P. She is survived by daughters Dr. Kathleen Gallagher (David Graves), Arleen Gallagher, Joleen Roach (Hal), daughter-in-law, Cindy Gallagher, and her 8 grandchildren: Zachary, Joshua and Gabriella Graves, Ruthie and Joey Roach, and David, Caroline and Grace Gallagher. She is also survived by her sister Elizabeth Arouth, brother Michael Arouth, brother- and sister-in-laws Frank and Anne Gallagher and Eileen and Chuck Piette, many nieces, nephews, cousins as well as countless friends. Visitation Friday, March 20, 2015, 6:00-7:00 PM, followed by Vigil Service at 7:00 PM at ALAMEDA FAMILY FUNERAL, 12341 Saratoga Sunnyvale Rd, Saratoga CA. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 12:30 pm at Queen of Apostles Church, 4911 Moorpark Ave, San Jose, CA. Interment following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Los Altos In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gastric Cancer Foundation or Queen of Apostles Church, in Pat's honor. If you'd like, join us in wearing a touch of purple in celebration of Pat.

Dear Arlene, Kathleen and Joleen, You were are neighbors for a short while when we lived in Yarmouth, Maine. I was looking up your mother's information to call her today and saw that she had passed away. I want you to know our family has such fond memories of parties and playing with your family it has never been forgotten. We lost our father, John Curry, on the 30th of October 2017, and I know he would've wanted me to contact your mother, but I guess she and your father already know. I hope they are all in heaven, celebrating what an enormously magical planet we have.
