I knew Pat when he was a student at The University of Akron and I was the secretary in the Office of Greek Affairs. He came to our office almost on a daily basis when he served as president of his fraternity. We had many nice talks. He was so polite and always, always stood straight and tall.

I was shocked to read of his death, and my heart hurts for his entire family.

Julie, I was so sorry to hear of Pat's death last week. You have been in my prayers the past 10 days asking God to give you peace and comfort at this time. I know it isn't easy. I remember at John and Missy's wedding, you and Pat looked so happy together. I hope when you come to Michigan that we can get together. May God continue to guide you through this difficult time of your life.

I knew Pat from our Fraternity and lived with him for two years in Stow. He was one of the most driven, focused and dedicated friends I have ever had. Although it took some time, he helped point me in the right direction toward "growing up." Pat was a great person and a wonderful friend. He will truly be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

I was a roommate of Pat's in Stow and lived with Pat and Steve Rakich. He was worried about me moving in there because he wanted to complete his MBA and felt I might be a distraction. He was right. But we had some fun and completed it with no problem.

I will always remember his laugh when he got going, his dedication to whatever he set out to achieve, and his offering of advice to help better yourself.

Pat was a good man and he will be missed.

It takes strength to make your way thru grief, to grab hold of life & let it pull you forward. Reject being overwhelmed. Grief changes face, but it never goes away. All that you can hope is that grief will be transformed and instead of feeling pain and confusion, you will be together again in memory. There you will find peace and solace, not just loss.

Pat was a great guy who spent his life working, working, working. He gave all he had and lived life on others terms so that someday he could retire early & live life on his terms.

Memories wait around each corner. Cherish these for they are a scrapbook of all your times together. You can curse the darkness or light a candle. Please light that candle & exist off the energy of family and friends.

Pat would want you all to have HOPE. Tomorrow is another day. You will have a new "normal". Embrace life. The storms of life reveal the strength of your faith.

It's OK to cry forever.
It's OK to be sad forever.
Just don't allow yourself to be bitter, angry and mad.

You'll never move forward if you cease to "be".

Celebrate his life. His soul is now free and unfolding as it should.

We are not human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience.

When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.

Keep his torch burning in your heart. It's going to hurt like hell and with time it'll get alittle better yet you'll never face a day that you don't ask "why".

The finish line was just the beginning of a whole new race for Pat!

God Bless you all. Bind together as family & find comfort/strength in one another.
