Paul and I emailed so frequently these passed months, I knew of his daily challenges, his comforts, his Joy's on the beauty of the simplicity of a fresh blooms about him. He knew the challenges I faced as a recent widow, what a comfort he was to me. God knows it was all timing... He knew how I needed Paul nurturing ear. I knew his Sister Sheila and Sweet Doris his mother... what a Blessing. What a Gift, Paul you've been to me. Thank you

Paul won a place in my heart when I sat down with him 12 years ago to get educated on all the different theological degrees -- M.Div. ... S.T.L... S.T.B... and S.T.D. When he saw my shocked face at the last one, we both dissolved into uncontrolled childish giggles, which broke us up every single time one of us had to discuss the doctorate in sacred theology by its more common name. Paul was one of the most down-to-earth and endearing people I met at SCU. He was helpful and generous with his knowledge, and did not set himself up as an untouchable scholar but rather a person eager to engage in relationship with the person across from him. I felt loved and respected in his presence, and it motivated me to try to treat others the same. RIP Paul Crowley, S.J.

A wonderful man whose life was about service. He was a great and trusted friend. His word was gold. He was open and willing to listen to all. He treated all humanity as equals.
We will miss him every day.

Paul was so much more than any obituary could outline. He was an inspired spirit and the most attentive and caring mentor-friend, ever. His book, Unwanted Wisdom, is inspiration to anyone experience suffering. All who know Paul have suffered from his departure yet we believe we will meet again and he would want us to be hopeful.
To all who know and love Paul, I share my deepest condolences.
