Paul Ross Hayden

Of Los Altos passed away peacefully at home on August 9, 2006, after a heroic battle with brain cancer.Ross was born July 26, 1944 in Louisville, Kentucky to Paul Hayden and his wife, Lucille. Growing up locally, he graduated with honors from St. Xavier High School in Louisville and later graduated with honors from the University of Louisville with both a BS and MS in engineering.Ross started his career as an engineer at Bell Labs. He later switched to marketing and sales, eventually working for a variety of technology companies such as Fairchild, Intel, ISD and DSP Group. His last position was Vice President of Sales at Global Locate.Ross' family and friends remember him as an avid reader, traveler and sports enthusiast who enjoyed jogging, basketball and golf. He regularly played basketball at his club and hosted his own 60th birthday golf tournament in 2004, where he hit the longest drive of the day. Proud of his Irish heritage, Ross traveled several times to Ireland, where he often stayed at a friend's castle in the county of Limerick.We want to thank the many friends and family members for their much appreciated support and kindness. Special thanks go to his caregivers, which included Pathways Home Health & Hospice and the local Tongan community.Ross is survived by his faithful wife, Katrina, and his loyal Irish wolfhound, Keegan. He is also survived by his loving sister, Kathy Hayden and mother, Lucille Hayden, both of Louisville, Kentucky.Visitation will be held at the SPANGLER MORTUARY in Los Altos at 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 11th. Full mass services will be held at Saint Agnes Catholic Church in Louisville, Kentucky on Wednesday, August 16th.
