Peter Labrador Obituary

Peter Labrador
Dec. 5, 1949 - Mar. 6, 2017
El Granada
Peter Charles Labrador drowned while surfing near Waikiki. He survived childhood cancer and took advantage of his second chance. He was passionate about surfing and Shakespeare, music and his guitars, literature and theater. He was a lifelong fan of the Warriors, Giants, and 49ers. Above all else, Peter loved his large extended family and his many friends.
Peter was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to Joe and Virginia (Ginnie) Labrador. He grew up in Honolulu and San Mateo, attending Maryknoll, St. Matthews, and Serra HS. A Phi Beta Kappa grad from UC Berkeley, he received his JD from UC Hastings College of Law. Peter was a member of the California and Hawaii Bar Associations, and a past president of the Hawaii Filipino Lawyers Association.
Peter is survived by son Joel; mother Virginia; brothers Victor and David; sister Laura (Ric) Ogle; nieces Laura and Jess; nephew EJ; a large ohana; and special friend Gale Giorgi. Celebrations of Peter's amazing life and a paddle out are planned for this summer. In his memory, consider donating to the San Mateo County Public Library or the Filipino Bar Association of Northern California, 268 Bush St, #2928, San Francisco, CA 94104

We were saddened to hear of Peter's passing. He was a good friend to my brother, John Chaput, when John needed it most. I remember Peter as being a gentle soul. So full of energy, too!
May he rest in peace and may your family find comfort in fond memories.

May the God of all comfort strengthen the family during this time of sorrow. "Those who die God keeps in his memory, because they are precious in his eyes.".......(Psalms 116:5).
