I was just thinking of my friend Tessa and the Reese family, when I came across Peter's obituary. My sympathies to the entire family. The Reeses were the source of so many childhood and teenage memories. Peter even was a great date for my sophomore banquet, he even drove the famous red VW bug. Love & Aloha

Just came across this. I am so sorry to see that Peter has passed. He was one of the first people that I met when I moved to Hawaii many years ago. I have very fond memories of him on his motorcycle, diving, sailing and enjoying Chinaman's Hat Bay. I will always remember fondly time with him and his amazing family. Such a special spirit! Such wonderful, warm heartfelt memories... Aloha

I met Peter back in the 80's from the Camp family in Hawaii. Such a charmer but so real. He was kind, gentle, smart and funny. He had a smile that brightened up the room. Luckily I got to see him again many years later in HI at the Camp's NYE party. He hadn't changed at all and still had that positive fun attitude. My prayers and thoughts are with all of his family. May your wonderful memories of Peter get you through this difficult time. I will always remember the Pro Bowl and boating afterwards. Love and aloha, Debbie Malloy

I have such fond memories of visiting the Reese family and laughing so much when all three kids - Peter, Hans and Tessa would start to make fun of different things. I know the love of these three had for each other and to think Peter is no longer here is very hard. A deep void. My deepest sympathy and to Cindy and Peter's son's and the Reese family. May all the good memories sustain you during your grieving. Much love.

I would like to express my sympathy to Peter's family on behalf of the Department of Tropical Medicine, Medical Microbiology & Pharmacology where Peter was a virology graduate student in Dr. Nyven Marchette's lab. It was great to have him as a student and, later, to occasionally meet him at scientific conferences and other professional settings. We will miss him.

This is a very sad news. I studied with Peter at the UHawaii back in 1987-1989. He was always very friendly. The last time I saw Peter was in 2008 when we had lunch at the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco before I went to a Painting Workshop in Santa Rosa. He came on his bike and we remembered the good times at Leahi Hospital. He will be missed by his kindness and good sense of humor. By for now Peter!!

I am so sorry to hear of his passing. Peter was the kindest man I have ever met. He was a role model when I was a child and is still a role model for me today. Gentle, fatherly, brave, strong, courageous are but a few words to describe Peter. I will miss him greatly and keep Ernie, Cindy, and Nick in my prayers.

Peter was an honorable man who shared his kindness with the people he met. He was a role model of a true friend, courteous, respectful, and generous. I raised my flag on my house as Pete had done to salute his memory, a friendship I will cherish for the rest of my life.
