Phyliss Lix Obituary

Phyliss Jeanette Lix
Oct. 19, 1931 - June 12, 2013
Resident of Cupertino 50 years
Phyliss passed unexpectedly at El Camino Hospital at age 81. Her beloved daughter, son-in-law and grandson were at her side. Phyliss is survived by husband, John Lawrence, of 52 years, daughter Fonda Lix Pallone, son-in-law, Thomas Pallone and her cherished and "favorite" grandchildren Anthony Thomas and Christina Marie of Saratoga. Born in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, Canada as the second child to Bernard and Ida Reierson she grew up a prairie girl. She is survived by siblings Ileine, Louise, and Ted. Preceded in death by brothers Orval and Ken. She was an outstanding student, class valedictorian and received her RN in Moose Jaw, Sask. where she met and married John. In 1960 they moved to the Bay Area. In 1964 she began a 30 year RN career at El Camino Hospital. Many miles separated her from her relatives yet she had a gift for staying in touch. Phyliss was the favored "Auntie" by many nieces and nephews. Always known for her gentle soul, kind and thoughtful ways, plus being a supportive and terrific co-worker and friend. She touched many lives and she cherished and loved her dear friends. For more than half of her life she had many challenging medical conditions and met them with both determination and a positive disposition. To her family she was the pillar of strength and the example of unconditional love. Her example will always be remembered. Memorial service will be Friday, July 26, 11am, Sacred Heart Church, 13716 Saratoga Ave., Saratoga 95070.

I loved your Mother for so many reasons but mostly because she accepted people for they way they were, faults and all. She had a huge heart and an even better gift of remembering all our birthdays. My favorite memories of her will be when we meet over 30 years ago for our first family Holiday together. You and the kids have made her so proud. She will be missed and loved every day :)

Dear Fonda, Tom and family
Your mother was a wonderful person who I will always remember for the happiness she always showed when I was around her. I know you will miss her and find comfort in that the example she set in life was the foundation of the great person you became.
