Raymond Orr Obituary

Raymond Wesley Orr June 18, 1930- Oct. 11, 2009 Ray Orr passed away suddenly while traveling with his wife. Ray was born in Plattsmouth, NE and raised in Jordan, MN. Ray joined the U.S. Air Force where he became a pilot, flew troop transport and hospital air ships, and rose to the rank of Captain. After serving his country, Ray studied Mechanical Engineering and went to work at IBM for the next 30+ years. Ray was interested in all things scientific and mechanical. Ray dearly loved his wife, children, and grandchildren, he enjoyed traveling with his family and sharing in the lives of his granddaughters. Ray is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol, his son Phil, his daughter-in-law Stephanie, and granddaughters Olivia and Serena. Ray was preceded in death by his daughter, Patty Orr. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Los Gatos on Sunday, November 1 at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to United Methodist Volunteers in Mission.
