Dear sue, Terry, Debbi, and Diane (aka "Namesake?"), Is it possible that it has been 40 years since Knickerbocker? So many memories. I think of all of you every time I think of Disneyland and remember all the crazy times with the great neighbors across the street. It boggles my mind to think of Terry, Debbi, and Diane all grown up with your own families and nearing retirement of your own. I hope and pray you are all okay. Love to all, Dave Rich (now in Liberty Lake, WA)

Sometimes 40 years ago seems like an eternity, but when I think of Ron, Sue, Terry, Debbie, and Diane it seems like only yesterday and a smile comes to my face. I hope and pray that they are all doing well and are happy in their lives. Thanks to the whole gang for such warm and wonderful memories.

Some of my favorite memories are of living across the street from Ron, Sue, Terry, Diane, and Debbi in the 1970s. Backpacking with Ron and Terry, taking the kids to Disneyland, watching our dog Foofer play with their cat KC, or just meeting Ron in the middle of the street on garbage night and talking for half-an-hour -- the entire family made our lives so much happier. All one of us had to do was start up a power tool and the other would come hurrying over.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Shum clan, wherever they may now be. You are all very special in my life and I think of you often.

Ron was a class act.!! So sad his passing. Ron helped me get started in my pharma sales career almost 40 years ago.
Sue, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Steve and Kathy Kushner

Ron, as crossing guard, was a bright light at the corner of Heatherstone and Grape, as he protected the children and adults who were crossing the street on the way to school. After the bell rung, he always had a cheerful chat with the parents. Thank you Ron for your service and friendship!

Mr. Ron was such a special soul. My kids loved him. We stopped and said hi everyday. Then he came and spoke at 2 of my kids den meetings where we found out just how decorated a scout he was. Now that I have a Boy Scout I realize just what that means! Once an Eagle always an Eagle. His spirit still soothe my soul. I will truly miss you.
