Resident of San Mateo County
Richard was born in San Francisco, CA. He lived with his family in South San Francisco for many years before moving to Portola. In 1974, the family moved to San Mateo, where Richard graduated from Aragon High School in 1978. After High School, Richard went to work for various automobile dealers; eventually becoming a journeyman parts counterman. His vast knowledge and love of cars helped him make many friends in the area. He also enjoyed listening to classic rock & roll music and could match songs to artists as soon as the song started playing. In his later years, Richard got much joy from spending time with his grand nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ronald & Harriet and his brother Robert. He is survived by two brothers; Greg and Jeff Goldberg, and his sister Lois Smith.
Services will be held at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo on Dec 15, 2018 at 11:00. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to local toy drives. For those attending the service, toys will be collected and donated at the San Mateo Firefighters Toys for Tots toy drive.

Rich so sad you have left us, you were way to young thank you for being such a great person and friend. You will be missed. God Bless , Rest in peace and will see you on the other side . My condolences and love to all who has had a pleasure to know and call you family and friend.
