Ritsuko Yoshida Iseman Iseman Obituary

Ritsuko Yoshida Iseman William Jennings Iseman

This is a dual obituary written for two wonderful people, my parents.

My father, William Jennings Iseman was born 7 June 1924 in New Bethlehem, PA of Willis Dwight and Marian Edna (Hetrick) Iseman. After he retired from a 20-year Air Force career, a second career followed as a technical writer until his final retirement in 1980. He had always been fond of aviation, history, music and art. He had attended Slippery Rock Teachers College, Stanford University and San Jose State University. He passed away on 15 October 2004 at Kaiser Santa Teresa Hospital in San Jose, California.

My mother, Ritsuko Yoshida Iseman was born 19 March 1931 in Tokyo, Japan of Seizo and Shinabu Yoshida. She was a homemaker and mother with a gentle kindness and generosity unequaled, as anyone who knew her can attest. She loved gardening, cooking, encouraging and caring for those around her. She asked for very little but always gave tremendously. She was one of the rare people in life that was always glad to see you. She studied and learned to read, write and speak English to become a US citizen. She was naturalized in 1963, 9 years after her application. She passed away at Kaiser Hospital Santa Clara in Santa Clara, California on 17 February 2004. I miss her.

They were happily married just shy of 50 years when my mother passed away recovering from surgery. My father adored my mother and his grief took its toll on him in just eight months. They are together now and forever. They had three children, William Steven, Suzanne Gail and Harriet Elaine Iseman. They are survived by William Steven and Harriet Elaine Iseman.
