Rose Lewicki Obituary
LEWICKI, Rose K.-- Passed away in San Jose. Born outside of Munich, Germany on May 4, 1927. Rose came to the United States at the age of two years. She lived in New York City until her teenage years when she moved to upstate New York. It was there that she subsequently met her husband, John. Rose and her family moved to Southern California in 1958 where Rose completed nursing training. The family relocated to San Jose in 1964 and Rose lived there with her family until her death June 10, 2002.
Rose spent the majority of her career as a nurse and worked for over 30 years at Kaiser Hospital in Santa Clara. She distinguished herself among her colleagues as an extremely ambitious, hard-working and dedicated employee. She had a passion for life and lived each day to its fullest. Among her hobbies, she loved to cook, including traditional German meals, and sew. She did both of these things extremely well, as she did all things in life. Rose also loved animals, most notably her various family dogs. She also treasured time with her family and many friends. Above all else, Rose was a caring and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She always stepped to the forefront to provide support when her family or friends were ill, in need of advice, or simply seeing someone to talk to. Everyone knew they could depend on her for help and guidance.
Rose is survived by her husband of 54 years, John, of San Jose, her daughter and son-in-law Suzanne and Ray Goodson of San Jose, her son and daughter-in-law, John and Jenniffer Lewicki of Los Gatos, her grandchildren, Andrew, Kelly, and Patrick her brother and sister-in-law, Rudy and Joann Bauer of Northridge, as well as many nieces and nephews. Rose was such a special person who will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. Fond of loving memories of her will forever be embedded in our hearts. Friends are invited to visit on Sunday June 16, 2002 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at DARLING-FISCHER FAMILY MORTUARIES, Campbell Memorial Chapel, 231 E. Campbell Ave., Campbell 408-379-5010. A Vigil will be held at the chapel at 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, June 17, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church 219 Bean Ave. Los Gatos. Entombment will follow at Los Gatos Memorial Park, San Jose.
