Sally Slocum Obituary
Sally Ann Stenjem Slocum went Home peacefully and gently to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Nov. 10, 2022. Heaven was deliriously happy to receive the precious new Angel. Sally was born May 29, 1928 in Milwaukee, Wi. She was a University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate, and a faithful Badger, though secretly her favorite animal was the giraffe. Go figure. She was a stunningly beautiful woman, but more importantly exuded warmth, kindness, humor and unflinching honesty every step of her 94 years. She was loved and admired by virtually everyone who came to know her, and she loved her church, Presbyterian Church of Los Gatos, where she served as a deacon. Sally's passion was her unwavering love of and faith in God, her husband Bill, and her four children and seven grandchildren. She also loved traveling, entertaining and fashioning five-star meals for her family and friends, a glass (sometimes one and a half) of fine California chardonnay, competitive bridge and the wonders of life itself. Sally married Stanford hunk William Coe Slocum in 1948 and the amazing couple would have celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary this coming April. Even God himself in recent days looked down on Sally and Bill and marveled, "OK, you beautiful marriage warriors, one heavenly hell of an effort...but Holy Jesus, perhaps enough is about enough now."And then God stood up and clapped.Sally was hobbled by several physical setbacks in recent years but never stopped battling and believing, and she wrung every last breath from life with determination. She is survived by her adoring husband Bill, and loving children Bob, Steve and Kristi, as well as grandchildren Jennifer, Joshuah, Chloe, Amy Grace, David, Daniel, and Abbey Rose. She is predeceased by her eldest son Bill. Mom, words cannot express how much Steve, Kristi and I love you and miss you and how grateful we are to have had such a wonderful and incredible Mom. Thank you. Rest peacefully and joyfully until we see you again. Services and a celebration of Sally's remarkable life will be held at a later date.
